You know how positive representation actually works?

My 50 year old coworker who’s apparently into super heroes randomly brought up that there’s a trans character in the show Supergirl and that he really likes that character. He talked about how he never really knew anything about trans people but now he feels like he knows a lot more about the topic and he feels a lot more empathetic towards them.

I’ve never seen Supergirl, didn’t even know there was a trans character in it. But you know…this is why representation is important. Random boomer who would have never thought about trans people otherwise now has become pro trans.
